Once better known as Dr. Noah Drake on “General Hospital,” Richard Lewis Springthorpe was born on this date in New South Wales, Australia. Rick Springfield tried to hang himself at age 17 – a thankfully, failed suicide attempt. Since then, he performed at LiveAid, acted alongside Meryl Streep in the movie “Ricki and the Flash” and in 2006, became a U.S. Citizen.
