Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival
Sunday, April 30 | Waterfront Memorial Park
Live music, seafood from some of Mount Pleasant’s best restaurants, family-friendly activities and fun with free admission and free parking – that’s the Town of Mount Pleasant’s annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival.
Sunday, April 30, it’s the unofficial kickoff of shrimp season in the Lowcountry. Bring your entire family to Waterfront Memorial Park in Mount Pleasant for the annual Blessing of the Fleet.
The event begins at 11 with the boat parade and fleet blessing that you can watch in person, and listen to as it happens on 92.5 Kickin’ Country.
Along with fabulous local shrimp and seafood, the “Blessing” includes a craft show and live music from the East Coast Party Band. There’ll be a shrimp eating contest and a shag contest as well. The 2023 event benefits Camp Rise Above and the Wayne Magwood Memorial Sculpture to honor the festival’s late founding father and pay homage to the captains whose hard work has made Shem Creek such a vital part of our town’s heritage.
