What is a “Trump Account?” Steve Quirk, a Chief Brokerage Officer with Robinhood provided this answer – A Trump Account is a federally established, tax-advantaged investment account for U.S. children under 18, designed to give them a financial head start with a $1,000 government seed contribution. Quirk explained that any U.S. child under 18 with a valid Social Security number can open a Trump Account. Children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, are eligible for a one-time $1,000 government seed contribution. Quirk provided information on how families could set up an account, as well as sharing how the family and others could make contributions to that account. He also gave his opinions as far as the differences that a Trump Account could make for a child today, and how that could use those funds upon turning 18.
